Summer is coming and my mom invited me to go on a Viking River cruise with her through the Provence region in south France and I’m so excited about it! So of course, one of the first things I need to do beforehand, is plan my wardrobe.

Last year my husband and I took a much belated honeymoon trip to the Loire Valley in central France, and we loved every second of it. So I have no doubt that the Provence region will be just as wonderful. I do expect that it will be warm during our trip, so I have picked outfits that will be both comfortable and pretty, not too tight, and help keep me cool as we get lost wondering down the cobblestone streets of Provence.

Swimsuit Cover Up

Our travel itinerary has us touring each stop along the river daily for about six days. The outings will be 1-3 hours long, leaving plenty of time to relax by the pool, or anywhere for that matter. This long, flowy swimsuit coverup will be perfect for slowing down and reading a book and sipping on a mocktail. I’m actually thinking my mom and I should be twins and get matching dresses! How fun would that be?!

Blue & White Striped Bubble Sundress

I’ve already upgraded my summer closet with two bubble skirts recently, and I’m so excited about it! This style of dress is so flattering for those who are a bit curvier in the hips and booty, yet still not too long to let your legs get a little kiss of the sun to hint that you went on a vacation. I think this is the perfect dress for walking through town, touring vineyards, or having a casual lunch on the cruise ship. I really love packing dresses like this one for travel because it eliminates decision fatigue that comes from outfits that have a separate top and bottom.

If you need me, look for me in Provence. I’ll be the American wearing blue.

The Perfect Hat for Travel

I have purchased two hats in a similar style to this one, and one wide-brimmed hat. The idea of the wide brimmed hat sounded fun, but it kept blowing off my head, and was difficult to travel with. This hat rolls up very neatly and can easily be worn with a ponytail. The neutral color of this hat makes it easy to pair with any outfit.

Crossbody Bag

I highly recommend a crossbody bag; this bag was a life saver when I went to France last year. I didn’t want to lug around a heavy backpack, and I needed certain items on me at all times – wallet, phone, chapstick, protein bar, etc., and this cute bag was so lightweight and easily matched all my outfits. This crossbody bag is literally too cute also! It has plenty of compartments, and the shoulder strap will wear very nicely and not show dirt easily, and it will easily match any outfit.

Nude Sunglasses

When I think of traveling in France, or looking the part, I picture these sunglasses. So chic. And they come in a variety of colors and styles! I always pack a few different sunglasses in case mine get lost or misplaced because I can’t live without sunglasses!

French Blue Bubble Dress

This is another flattering dress that exudes simple elegance French vibes. Pair this with the satin ribbons and you will turn heads for sure. I like this brand too, very reliable in their clothing selection and fit.

The Perfect Striped Ruffle Cap Sleeve Shirt

What’s more iconically french casual couture than a blue and white striped top with dainty shoulder ruffles? This top would pair great with a pair of jeans or an a-line skirt. So classic. Combine this top with a french scarf and some of the sunglasses on this list, and you will be ready for your next outing!

The Jean Jacket You’ll Want to Wear Every Day

This jean jacket reads stylish, yet fun. It’s a great layering piece for the plane, sunset dinners, cool nights, or a seasonal storm passing through. I love this jacket and think it pairs nicely with the other dresses and tops. The ruffed up edge at the bottom is so unique too.

Sunglasses with Flair!

Another great pair of sunglasses to show your fun travel side. They are sassy yet oh so chic! Hop in a vintage 190 sl convertible and wrap this scarf around your head to protect your hair, and instantly you will look like you belong in a 1950’s film. Classic, timeless, beautiful, that’s you!

White Lace Puffed Sleeve Top

Summers in southern France get hot, and this lace puffed sleeve top will not only have you looking incredibly stylish, but you will be cool and comfortable too. Pair this top with one of these classic tanks, and you will be stylish enough for any outing.

3 Piece Set of Luggage for Her

When I travel, I only bring carry on sized bags. It forces me to be decisive with my outfit choices, but it is also so much easier to manage too. Although I don’t think we will be taking the metro for this trip, navigating through CDG and other French airports are so much easier when your luggage and bags are easy to manage. The price on this luggage set is incredible and I don’t think you’ll need more than this for a week long trip. There is a washer and dryer on the cruise line, so if you run out of outfits, you can always wash them. At least, that’s what we do.

3 Piece Set of Luggage for Him

My husband and I bought matching luggage years ago, and we still love them. If we were to upgrade his, I’d definitely choose this luggage set! It’s similar to the luggage for her, but this luggage set is more masculine with the brown colors. And it even includes packing cubes too. Guys usually like that sort of thing.

Satin Hair Ribbons

Wear your hair in a ponytail on the hotter days, but do it in style with these French-inspired satin ribbons.

Even if you’re not planning a cruise to south France, you can always channel your inner French girl vibes with these chic outfits and accessories. If you go, snap a few photos and tell me the must see places I should go on my trip! Happy vacationing!

There may be others champing at the bit, but Ralph Lauren’s spring collection proves that he remains the master of all-American fashion. From the blue-and-white striped top paired with a navy floral skirt and accented with a neck scarf, to the matching twinset—its cardigan tied at the waist of a pair of periwinkle pants—the effort was a welcome departure from the decadence we so often expect from a fashion show. (Well, at least most fashion shows.) Lauren also made a great case for the brown leather belt. It will certainly be at the top of many spring shopping lists
